Live Music Returns To Etna, PA
After a nearly (25) year hiatus, One Higgins Street Etna, PA is bringing live music back to their historic tavern. Saturday night February 27, 2010 turned out to be “one-helluva” rock n roll jam-fest. NHB headlined the show, with special guest “Cedar Run Band.”
One of Pittsburgh’s great blues/soul voices, Donnie Marisco sat in with NHB bringing what was already a stellar performance to even higher levels. Special Thanks to Melinda Nied for capturing the evening for prosperity.

A Message From Jim Franciscus / Shot O’ Soul
John, it was great working with you guys again . The entire show was a lot of fun. Thank you so much for the kind words and compliments on Shot O’ Soul’s performance from all of the Nied’s Hotel Band members. They are greatly appreciated. We love doing shows with you guys and respect what you do so very much. Please thank Ron Beitle, Russ Oblinger, and Bruce Cody for the use of their equipment. They were wonderful and gracious as always. Please also pass my thanks on to Dr. “O”& Liz for the tremendous lighting and Charlie Simeone for doing a SUPERB job with the sound.
The Nied’s Hotel Band sounded great as usual , and didn’t miss a beat with Tim Hadley stepping into the mix on lead guitar, he is a fantastic player. I loved your new original songs, and being the Springsteen devotee that I am, especially enjoyed “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” and “Thunder Road”. I’d love to hear you guys do “She’s The One”, it’s not a Springsteen cover that a lot of bands take on because they don’t have a keyboard player as good as Bruce Cody. He’s as good as it gets in my opinion.
JV, Happy Holidays and a Joyous New Year to you and your family. Here’s wishing for better things to come for the Nieds Hotel Band and Shot O’ Soul in the upcoming year!!
